| Description: | Howell Engine Developments, Inc. has more great news for Jeep owners – a 50-state legal electronic fuel injection system designed for AMC-based V8 engines. Under California Air Resources Board (CARB) Executive Order D-452-1, The Howell JP V8 EFI system is emissions legal for all 1972 through 1981 304, 360, and 400 cubic inch engines. These systems feature a new GM 2-barrel throttle body, Engine Control Module (EMC), wiring harness, fuel pump, fuel filter, and all necessary relays and sensors. All GM original equipment diagnostic capabilities, including a "Check engine" light are fully functional. The system operates in "Closed Loop" mode for maximum fuel efficiency and optimum emissions control and allows the stock Jeep ignition to be retained.
In addition to improving highway performance and fuel economy, the Howell Jeep V8 EFI system greatly enhances off-road driveability by eliminating the problems that frequently occur when a vehicle with a carbureted engine is driven up steep hills, or at "extreme attitudes."
