Motormax was started by two gentleman by the names of Tom Semeniuk and Jorgen Bailey.
Tom had an extensive background in designing, manufacturing, and marketing a line of high quality bulk vending machines. Using customer service as the company's #1 priority and with a determination to focus on offering the highest level of quality at a competitive price, Tom built an extremely successful global business. Tom's philosophy with this company went completely against the grain for the industry. At a time when his competitor's were offering inexpensive machines with lesser quality Tom gave the market a Cadillac knowing that smart consumers would understand and want the value, the results were wildly successful.
Jorgen spent over a decade working for and developing several multi-million dollar corporations. The first company, a marketing company, exploded doing almost 33 million in the first 18 months. The second company, an international contract manufacturing company, doubled in size over an eight year period. Jorgen's primary focus with both companies was managing their growth.
With the merging of these two successful individual backgrounds, a vision was born – develop a first class manufacturing company to produce recreational vehicles of only the best quality but at an affordable price for the average family.
After extensive research of the powersports industry a decision was made to focus on a line of family-friendly "all-terrain" buggies. Most affordable buggies were being imported and usually suffered from poor quality both in design and workmanship not to mention the lack of any reasonable warranties in addition to a major struggle with parts availability.
In keeping true to the vision and focus of the company (high quality & affordable prices) the Kohler Command Pro Engine series was decided on to power the units. Kohler's name is well known throughout the US and Canada and they have been in business for nearly 100 years! Parts for these engines are readily available at your local NAPA store. The engines come with a complete 2-year warranty.
Additional quality is in the Fox Off-Road Racing shocks which are famous the world over as the shock of choice for aftermarket upgrades.
Next came research, development and design, the adventure of coming up with the ultimate buggy product that was affordable for the general public without losing quality. Three units were decided on: the X1 Single Seater, the X2 two seater, and the XTR two seat trail model. These three units have have taken over 2 years to create and have cost a tremendous amount of money. The reward comes when people who know the Buggy market and are quite knowledgeable about our competitors tell us that we have exactly the type and quality of Buggy they have been looking for, in some cases they have searched all over the world.
The X2 has become the Buggy of choice for the Rental Industry and that is a true testimonial to the endurable quality of the unit. They are heavily abused on a daily basis in that segment of the market so they must stand up.
Also in the planning stages are modified Emergency Vehicle Buggies and Buggies with Agricultural applications such as crop spraying.
The Quad/ATV market, according to recent studies, appears to be slowing down and we predict that when the consumer becomes aware that a product such as ours is available, the next wave of fun vehicles will be Buggies as they offer a safer riding experience and can involve the entire family. We do have engine upgrades for you extreme speed junkies also.
The Motormax Buggies are manufactured in our plant in Salt Lake City, Utah.
